| Description |
The 2010 event will be the 53rd consecutive Marathon. It will include 21 different competitive canoe and kayak classes, plus a "No Contest" class for those more interested in an enjoyable day on a very scenic river than a time or award. Craft are started in mixed heats of eight at two minute intervals. The 18 1/2 mile course includes two mandatory portages. Application brochures will be available March 1, 2010.

Exit northbound Interstate 94 at IL 176, Park Ave, and proceed west to St. Marys Road (light). Turn right and proceed north to traffic light at Oak Spring Road, then go left 2/3 mile to Des Plaines River. OR Exit southbound Interstate 94 at I 137, proceed west to St. Marys Road, and turn left. Proceed south to Oak Spring Road at traffic light, turn right and proceed 2/3 mile to the river.

Entry fee will be $22 per paddler and passenger, if done by paper or web pre-registration, with tee shirt for additional $5. Registration on day of race is $30, space permitting, with tee shirt for $10 each at finish line, if size is available.

All who complete entire entire course receive commemorative patch. Customary Voyageur Statue Trophies are presented to winners in 21 classes, with other awards to second and third place finishers.
