Description USCA's National Canoe & Kayak Orienteering Championships take place on the second day of USCA Nationals (Wednesday).

Canoe & Kayak Orienteering consists of a race - on land and water - to get to as many (preferably all) points on a map (the points known as "controls" - there are punches to mark your card as evidence of your visit) as fast as possible, within a time deadline.

There will be an Orienteering Seminar given at The Stream 6:00pm Tuesday, August 9, 2011.

Directions will be posted at 7:00am Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Race HQ in Henning Park.

Price Range $15 - $25
Fees and Costs $20 per paddler. $5 flat fee for Youth applies. (Youth may compete in all official youth events during Nationals week plus the Wednesday Biathlon).

Prizes and Awards Medals:
At the USCA Annual Meeting in January, the delegates voted to simplify the previous system of awarding, variously, 6 deep, 5 deep, 3 deep, and 2 deep in adult classes. Beginning in August, 2010, all adult classes will be awarded 3 deep.
Medals for all youth, junior, adult/youth and adult/junior classes will remain the same: 6 deep for marathon distances and 5 deep for sprints. All special age group recognitions will remain the same.
