USCA Review Committee for ICF Scholarships

Committee reviews and recommends travel assistance funding for USCA members to participate in the ICF World Championships.

USCA Review Committee for ICF Scholarships USCA ICF Junior/Senior World Marathon Championship Funding United States Canoe Association (USCA) has established a program to provide travel support to USCA members who qualify for the International Canoe Federation (ICF) Junior/Senior World Marathon Championships. The goals of the program are to encourage all of our younger paddlers to strive for the excellence that international competition represents, and to assist our most promising, and accomplished, younger members to compete with the best marathon paddlers in the world, at the ultimate marathon paddling event in the world. Specifically, USCA will provide up to $3000 annually to fund qualifying USCA member travel to the annual ICF Junior/Seniors World Marathon Championship, with individual disbursement not to exceed $1000. To be considered for travel funding an applicant must: 1. Be USCA member at the time of application 2. Not have reached 35 years of age in the year of the competition for which funding is sought. 3. Have participated in 3 of the 5 USCA National Canoe & Kayak Championships immediately prior to the date of application, or have participated in 1 of the 3 USCA National Canoe & Kayak Championships immediately prior to the date of application if competing as a junior. 4. Have been selected by USA Canoe / Kayak (USACK) to the Junior, Senior, or under 23 team representing the USA at the World Championship for which support is requested. 5. Submit a complete and satisfactory application to the USCA ICF Junior/Senior World Marathon Championship Funding Committee prior to the date specified on the application. 6. Summarize, on your application, an initiative that you will undertake during the year to introduce and promote marathon paddling to the community.
