CANOEIST OF THE YEAR AWARD

ELIGIBILITY:

Any USCA member who has made a significant contribution toward the sport of canoeing through USCA within the current year. Also, the selection will be based on the individual's mental attitude, fellowship, spirit, sportsmanship, compassionate understanding and contribution to the promotion and growth of the amateur canoeing cause either on a competitive and/or non- competitive basis. It is suggested that this award not be given to anyone posthumously. There is no limit on the number of time a USCA member may receive this award.

SELECTION COMMITTEE:

Executive Committee and Executive Director.

WHEN AWARDED:

USCA Nationals, Sunday, during Awards presentation by the President of USCA.

PROCEDURE:

The Canoeist of the Year Award is to be placed on the Semi Annual Meeting Agenda under New Business. The Secretary of the Association should announce to the Delegates that nominations will be received by the Secretary of the Association, IN WRITING, until the start of the Awards presentation, Saturday, second day of the marathon events.

AWARD:
Traveling Trophy.

MEDIA:

The Executive Director coordinates all information.
