ELIGIBILITY: A person or organization, nationally or internationally who has made a significant contribution to paddlesports. SELECTION COMMITTEE: USCA Executive Committee (President serving as chairman) and USCA Executive Director. PROCEDURE FOR SELECTION: Press release is to be sent out by the executive director to all paddlesports magazines (which includes Canoe News magazine), soliciting nominations. Nominations must be returned to the executive director on or before July 34th. The committee shall meet at the semi-annual meeting and select a recipient. The executive director shall notify the recipient and assist that individual in attending the USCA Annual Meeting for the award presentation. No one other than the committee shall be knowledgeable of the name of the recipient before the award presentation at the USCA Banquet. Award: Framed Picture: "Quiet Passage". Painted by: Fred Montague, a professor in the School of Forestry, Purdue University, Lafayette, Indiana. His study area relates to wildlife management. He is an avid painter of wildlife; however, the Lafayette Canoe Club commissioned Fred to do the picture, titled "QUIET PASSAGE". The scene depicts a couple paddling leisurely on an idealized river which came from Fred's Northern wilderness experiences. PREVIOUS RECIPIENTS:
